Men charged with aggravated robbery

Two men arrested and firearm recovered by Hamilton police in relation to violent armed robbery of Chartwell Kiwibank

Hamilton police have arrested two men in relation to a violent aggravated robbery at a Chartwell bank last year.

Customers were threatened with a firearm during the incident at the Kiwibank in early December.

Police say the Waikato Armed Offenders Squad have assisted detectives today carrying out enquiries at two addresses.

A 21-year-old and 24-year-old man were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and police also recovered a firearm they believe may have been used in the incident.

They say further arrests are possible.
