Slip up for South Sydney
A setback for South Sydney in the race for the top 8 in NRL with a 32-12 loss to the Bulldogs; Panthers beat Cowboys 24-16
South Sydney has slipped up in the race for the NRL top eight with a 32-12 defeat to the Bulldogs.
Souths are clinging on in eighth place, ahead of the Broncos and Parramatta on points difference, with both of the clubs still to play this weekend. Having already lost David Taylor to injury, the Rabbitohs could now find themselves without star import Sam Burgess for some part of their run home after he was placed on report for a grapple tackle.
In other results, the Panthers have snapped their losing streak with a 24-16 win over the Cowboys, coming from 16-10 down to get the competition points.
