Netflix has announced the premiere date for the upcoming Matt Groening animated adult comedy fantasy series Disenchantment.

Mark August 17th in your calendar; that's when first 10 episodes will drop on Netflix.

The series is set in the dingy kingdom of Dreamland, following the misadventures of Princess Bean and her sidekicks Elfo the elf and Luci the demon.

The series features Abbi Jacobson as Bean, Nat Faxon as Elfo, and comic Eric Andre as Luci.

Other voice talent includes John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery.

Netflix has released some first-look art of the show that you can check out below.

Groening's instantly recognisable style of animation is once again the work of Rough Draft Studios, the same studio that animated Futurama.

It doesn't appear to be a departure from Futurama or The Simpsons (Elfo has a bit of a Bart-ish look to him and Bean could be an ancestor of Fry's), which likely means it will have no trouble finding its audience.
