Sir Gordon Tietjens will not err on the side of caution when picking his side for the Wellington Sevens.

The All Blacks Sevens coach has named a 16 strong wider squad, to be trimmed to 12.

Veterans Tomasi Cama and Lote Raikabula have been given a shot to end their world series absence.

Their experience is seen as handy as New Zealand seek a place inside the top four in the Series to secure Olympic qualification.

However Tietjens says that's not how he does things.

He says just because a player doesn't have the experience needed doesn't mean he won't pick him.

New Zealand sit third behind Fiji and South Africa after three rounds.
