New England patriots quarterback Tom Brady's expected to challenge the NFL in court after his four game suspension for his role in the 'Deflategate' scandal was upheld by Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Brady was hit with the ban in May after an NFL investigation found he was at least "generally aware" of efforts by Patriots staff to tamper with the pressure of balls.

Brady had angrily rejected wrongdoing and appealed against the suspension.

But it's been upheld by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and ESPN legal analyst Roger Cossack says Brady will launch a lawsuit in Minnesota or Massachusetts.

"He will bring his lawsuit in one of those two places and what he will be attempting to do of course is to overturn the decision and the decision by the commissioner to suspend him for four games."

Cossack says Brady will argue the decks were stacked against him.

"The deck was stacked against him. To have the commissioner of the National Football League - the person who comes up with the sentence and then reviews the sentence - flies in the face of everything we think of as fairness."

Roger Goodell says a key factor in the suspension was Brady's decision to destroy his cellphone even though investigators asked to use it.
