The Warriors are calling for a review on the bunker after it potentially cost them an NRL playoff berth.

Two tries were overturned by the bunker in the Warriors 36-24 loss to the Tigers at Mt Smart, which with a week to play, puts them out of contention for the top eight.

Coach Andrew McFadden said frustratingly the obstruction rule isn't black and white.

"I just think the officials just really lack awareness. It's got to be that they've really taken out a player. To me both potential milked by the opposition knowing that they weren't going to get there. Disappointed that those get disallowed."

Captain Ryan Hoffman said while the officiating didn't help, they only have themselves to blame.

"In the end you've got to get wins. We want to be a semi-final football team and we've got to get wins. We've had the right information and the right preparation all year. It just came down to individual executions and efforts."

Hoffman said a lack of basic skills let them down.

"We lapsed. We didn't have that desperation on the try line. We didn't have that desperation to get to get the ball. That's what you need if you want to be a semi-final football team you have to have that urgency and desperation to get the ball and to defend your try line. We didn't do that."

McFadden's pessimistically in the dark about his future as Warriors coach.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Warriors won't make the playoffs.

McFadden said while he thinks he's doing a good job, it's now up to the board to decide whether he hangs around.

"I'd like to keep going. I feel like I'm doing a good job. I'm certainly planning for the future but I'm a realist as well so I'm not sure. We'll just have to wait and see."

Meanwhile the Rabbitohs have defeated the Knights 34-12 in Newcastle.
