This footage from 2011 is of Garrett McNamara taking on a humongous 78-foot wave which is the largest wave to be surfed and recorded in history! He surfed the same spot two years later and found himself on a 100-foot wave and successfully pulled it off. The mans a freak! Unfortunately, the second ride wasn't verified by the Guinness World Records.
At the start of 2016 Garrett managed to wipe himself out on a 50-foot wave and it nearly cost him his life...
He shattered his Humerous head into nine pieces and he was left with acute nerve damage along his forearm and upper shoulder.
