(Photo by Christopher Polk/Variety via Getty Images)
Blink-182 have fans losing their minds after dropping a cryptic teaser that points towards something special for the 25th anniversary of Take Off Your Pants and Jacket.
Earlier this week, the pop-punk icons shared the album's unmistakable cover artwork across social media, alongside a link encouraging fans to sign up for more information. No details have been revealed yet, but with the album turning 25 on June 12.
Naturally, fans have already started speculating. Theories range from a deluxe reissue packed with unreleased material to a full-blown anniversary tour celebrating one of the defining pop-punk albums of the early 2000s.

Released on June 12, 2001, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket became a monster success for the band. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling more than 350,000 copies in its first week and becoming the first punk-rock album ever to top the chart straight out of the gate.
The album also delivered some of Blink's biggest hits, including "The Rock Show", "First Date" and "Stay Together for the Kids". While the first two doubled down on the band's trademark humour and youthful chaos, "Stay Together for the Kids" showed a more serious side, tackling divorce and family breakdown with some of the most personal songwriting of their career.
At the time, Blink-182 were operating at the peak of their powers. Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker spent the next two years touring the album around the world, including the legendary Pop Disaster Tour alongside Green Day.
The teaser continues a trend of Blink revisiting key moments from their catalogue. In 2019, the band celebrated the 20th anniversary of Enema of the State by performing the album in full, while Tom DeLonge's return to the lineup has reignited interest in the group's classic era.
The band have hardly been taking it easy either. Their 2023 reunion album One More Time... debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, giving Blink their first chart-topper since Take Off Your Pants and Jacket more than two decades earlier.
Whatever they've got planned, we won't have to wait long to find out. June 12 is just around the corner, and Blink-182 appear ready to celebrate one of the most beloved records in pop-punk history.

Join the Music Jury! Have your say on what we play (and win free sh*t)

Alice Cooper warns about AI

Alice Cooper has issued a stark warning about the future of rock music.
Alice claims artificial intelligence is now capable of creating fully‑formed “rock stars” who don’t actually exist - and could even release hit albums without a single human emotion behind them.Appearing on SiriusXM's Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk, the 78-year-old shock rock icon said the technology has advanced so far that a convincing, marketable artist could be generated from scratch. He explained: “Well, here's the deal. I could right now create a rock star. I could create a Yungblud, a guy that's really appealing, rock, tough, cool looking. I could create a guy named - I don't care - Starboy or whatever and make him look great. He doesn't actually exist."The Poison hitmaker went on to describe how AI could be instructed to mimic legendary voices and write entire albums without any human involvement. He said: “I could tell the AI, 'I want him to sound like Tom Petty and Freddie Mercury. And here's what the album's about. Write the songs.’ Okay, now you've got a rock star that doesn't exist, and you've got an album that doesn't exist except in this world. And what happens if it sells? Who gets the money? AI wrote the songs.”He warned that the industry is heading toward a legal and creative minefield, adding: “That's gonna happen. You watch that happen, because the guy that just suggested what it should be did not write the songs.”He insists the real issue isn’t copyright - but the absence of lived experience.Alice went on: “If I could tell it to write a song about Eddie Trunk joining The Rolling Stones, they would write you a great song - except for one thing. The one thing it can't do - it's never been in love. It's never had its heart broken. It's never been angry. It's never been happy.”He argued that AI‑generated music will always lack the emotional core that defines great rock songwriting. He said: “It only knows words… But it has no emotion. It has no heart, it has no feel, has no soul to it, and that's where it dies right there.”And until AI can replicate that human spark, Alice believes its creations will remain hollow. He added: “You know that it doesn't come from any root inside, any heart, any experience. When they get that, then I think… I don't know what's going to happen to music.”

Metallica Sets New Attendance Record at Berlin's Olympiastadion
Metallica continue to make history on their M72 World Tour, setting another attendance record during their performance at Berlin's Olympiastadion on May 30.
The band celebrated the milestone on Instagram, thanking fans for their support:

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Metallica (@metallica)

"Night after night, city after city, the #MetallicaFamily is bringing it! Yesterday, over 94,000 of you helped break the record for the biggest EVER show at Olympiastadion. Thank you!"
Berlin's Olympiastadion was originally built for the 1936 Summer Olympics and reportedly hosted crowds exceeding 100,000 at the time. However, after extensive renovations completed in 2004, the stadium's permanent seating capacity was reduced to 74,475.
Metallica's ability to surpass that figure was likely aided by their innovative in-the-round stage design, which has been a defining feature of the M72 World Tour. Unlike traditional concert setups, the circular stage allows seating to remain open throughout the entire venue, maximizing attendance.
The previous attendance record at Olympiastadion was held by U2, whose 2009 concert drew approximately 90,000 fans.
More Record-Breaking Success on the M72 Tour
The Berlin achievement is the latest in a series of attendance milestones for Metallica. In August 2023, the band surpassed Taylor Swift's attendance numbers at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium, attracting roughly 78,000 fans for each of two performances during the same weekend.
More recently, on May 9, Metallica launched the latest leg of the M72 World Tour by setting another attendance record at the Olympic Stadium in Athens, Greece, where more than 90,000 fans attended the show.
During their record-breaking night in Berlin, Metallica performed a 16-song set that opened with "Creeping Death" and concluded with the iconic "Enter Sandman," delivering another unforgettable experience for their fans.

Auckland rock band Silcrow is making their highly anticipated return this May with the release of their new single, Unclean.
The four-piece – best known for their dynamic live gigs and grungy, guitar-driven sound – is back and better than ever, with a string of new music on the way. With a new bassist and producer among the ranks, Unclean is a high-octane, headbanging anthem that marks an exciting new chapter in the band’s musical journey.
Unclean was recorded, mixed, and produced by Troy McKubre (The Gentle Men, Solstate) at Old North Studios, an Auckland recording suite owned and operated by McKubre and New Zealand singer-songwriter Boh Runga. It was then mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Ted Jensen (Sterling Sound), who has worked on iconic albums from The Eagles’ Hotel California to The Rolling Stones’ Some Girls and Green Day’s American Idiot.

“Working with Troy at Old North Studios was such a pleasure. They’ve built a really great space, not only to record in but just to hang out in. The drum room is something special, and we’re stoked to have captured what we did there,” says Silcrow.
“Unclean is about capturing that feeling of ‘90s rock and bringing that into the modern era. Lyrically, it's about someone losing their way and making some questionable decisions,” explains vocalist Lorenzo Hazelwood. “The inspiration for Unclean came from grunge bands like Stone Temple Pilots. We wanted something a little more upbeat and drivey.”
The track starts off with a tight and powerful drum fill that leads into a punky, sludgy guitar riff. The band keeps it simple and controlled during the verse, expanding on that in the pre-chorus before launching into a massive chorus section. Fans of Silcrow will be glad to know it features a ripping guitar solo and the screaming vocals they have come to know and love.
Consisting of members Lorenzo Hazelwood (vocals), Oscar Miller (guitar), Carl Stieller (drums), and recent addition Louis Simpson (bass), Silcrow has been kicking around the New Zealand rock scene since 2018. With their electric mix of hard rock and melodic passages, Silcrow has amassed a cult following in Auckland and beyond. The band has gone on to achieve over 200,000 combined streams, a #1 single on the Play MPE weekly Latin America Charts, sold-out local shows, support slots for bands Skinny Hobos and Shepherds Reign, and praise from Grammy-nominated producer Jay Ruston.
Check them out here!
