Josh Homme risks $10k fine for smoking on stage

Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme had a few choice words for Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, during the band's show Thursday, August 6, and he made his feelings about the venue's smoking policy very clear.

Homme told the crowd that the venue had threatened a $10,000 fine for anyone caught smoking backstage, leaving him less than impressed with having to wander around the 65,000-capacity stadium in search of a designated smoking area.

Ford Field is a smoke-free venue, with smoking and vaping prohibited throughout the facility.

Just before Queens of the Stone Age wrapped up their set, Homme launched into a fiery rant aimed at the venue's rules.

"Don’t let these fuckin’ corporate assholes tell you what to do, do whatever the fuck you want."

"Fuck that shit. You paid for parking, and you’re paying for overpriced drinks, these fucking scalpers. Fuck having some corporation tell you what the fuck to do, you guys do what you want!"

And just when it seemed like Homme had finished, he added one final target "And fuck Flock cameras too."

He then proceeded to light up a cigarette on stage, seemingly making his feelings about the venue's smoking policy pretty damn clear.

At the time of writing, it's not known whether Homme, or anyone else from the Queens of the Stone Age camp, actually copped the reported $10,000 fine.
