Queens of the Stone Age have revealed the title of their upcoming album, Perfecth - but whether it's actually arriving on September 30 remains anyone's guess.

The band have announced the new record in typically chaotic fashion, releasing a 90-second video featuring frontman Josh Homme and guitarist/keyboardist Dean Fertita playing the extremely ill-advised game of five-finger fillet.

Fertita manages to make it through the game unscathed before Homme takes his turn. When Fertita asks when the new album is coming out, Homme casually replies:

“September 30th, I think?”

Homme then attempts to take on the knife game himself, with predictably brutal results, stabbing his right hand and immediately casting doubt over the supposed release date.

The video initially declares:

“Queens of the Stone Age, the new album, Perfecth, coming September 30th.”

But after Homme's unfortunate encounter with the knife, the date is crossed out, with the video instead ending on:

“Coming… soon?”

So, September 30? Maybe. Maybe not. Classic Queens.

The announcement follows the release of ‘Easy Street’, the band's first new music since their 2023 album In Times New Roman....

The psychedelic track arrived alongside its own suitably bloody music video and was first performed live during Queens of the Stone Age's Catacombs Tour last year.

For now, all we know for sure is that Perfecth is coming - and judging by this announcement, probably not without a little bloodshed.
