Kiwi IndyCar legend Scott Dixon is reportedly set to make one of the biggest moves of his career, with multiple reports claiming he'll join Arrow McLaren for the 2027 IndyCar season.

According to respected motorsport journalist Marshall Pruett, Dixon will be joined by reigning Indianapolis 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist as McLaren reshapes its driver line-up.

If confirmed, the move would bring an end to Dixon's remarkable 25-year stint with Chip Ganassi Racing, the team he joined in 2002. During that time, the 45-year-old has cemented his place as one of IndyCar's all-time greats, winning six championships (2003, 2008, 2013, 2015, 2018 and 2020), claiming victory at the 2008 Indianapolis 500 and recording at least one race win in every season since 2005.

That incredible winning streak is under threat this year, with Dixon still searching for his first victory of the campaign.

Pruett reports Dixon informed Chip Ganassi Racing of his intention to leave during a recent meeting. The veteran Kiwi has not commented publicly on the reports.

Rosenqvist, meanwhile, confirmed last week he will depart Meyer Shank Racing at the end of the season. The 34-year-old Swede heads back to McLaren after previously racing for the team from 2021 to 2023.

He arrives on the back of the biggest victory of his career, edging David Malukas by the closest margin in Indianapolis 500 history to claim this year's iconic race.

The reported signings would see Dixon and Rosenqvist line up alongside Pato O'Ward at Arrow McLaren from 2027.

Should the move go ahead, Christian Lundgaard and Nolan Siegel are expected to make way. Lundgaard has been McLaren's standout performer this season, sitting highest among the team's drivers in the championship after claiming two race wins, including victory at Road America, while 21-year-old Siegel is in his third season with the squad.
