2015 was a great year for Star Wars fans and with the success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens the next few years could be just as good.

We could expect 10 new films, executives are in talks for five more after 2020. Plans are already in place for two trilogy episodes and three spin-offs.

Star Wars: Episode VIII is scheduled for release on December 15, 2017 starring Daisey Raidley (Rey), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) and Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Max Kanata) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker).

Two other movies have not been revealed, although rumours are there will be a Star Wars IX in 2019, with a third movie out the following year.

Disney are working on more projects with speculation they will feature new and legacy characters. Solo movies for Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu are among the ideas.
