On this day in music history, Led Zeppelin performed at The Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan and in the process, shattered records with their performance. 76,200 rock fans managed to cram themselves into the venue to see the band for $10 a head. Massive ticket sales prompted the Silverdome to be concerned with how the concert would run.

With crazy high record sales, the Silverdome prepared for the show by formulating a plan. A plan which included letting the fans in early and reserving over 14,000 seats. Funnily enough, the previous world record was held by rock legends The Who with 75,962 at the same venue. Whole documentaries have been made about the iconic gig which you can find on Youtube and earlier this year some previously never-before-seen footage has resurfaced (check out the video below)

Tune in from 12pm today to hear Angie play her favourite Led Zeppelin Songs Back to back!
