Guns N’ Roses have dropped two new tracks, “Nothin’” and “Atlas.”
They mark the fifth and sixth releases from the band since Slash and Duff McKagan rejoined in 2016, following 2021’s “Absurd” and “Hard Skool,” and 2023’s “Perhaps” and “The General.”
In an interview with Guitar World a few months back, Slash hinted that Guns N’ Roses will eventually release a new album. It would be the long-awaited follow-up to 2008’s Chinese Democracy - and their first record featuring Slash and Duff McKagan since The Spaghetti Incident? in 1993.
Slash explained that the band has plenty of material, but finding the time and focus to pull it all together is the real challenge.
“There’s so much material at this point, it’s just about having the discipline to sit down and really dive into it. But with Guns, in my experience, you can never plan ahead. You can’t just say, ‘We’re going to use this time and make this happen,’” he said.
“Every time we’ve tried that, it falls apart. It always comes together spontaneously, some spark of inspiration kicks things off, and suddenly it’s happening. So it is coming. I know it is, because everyone is thinking about it. It’ll happen when it happens.”
