Beck has toured consistently every year for nearly a decade and had no plans of slowing down, until the COVID-19 pandemic hit and he had no choice. Aside from being featured on a Gorillaz song last year, 2020 was pretty quiet for the singer-songwriter, and 2021 is off to a slow start as well. However, with a possible timeline for live music to resume there's a light at the end of the tunnel, and Beck took to Instagram to reflect on his last tour and share his hopes for returning to the stage sooner rather than later.

"Summer 2019. Our last tour," he wrote alongside live footage of his band performing the Guero track "E-Pro." "We’d been touring continuously every year since 2012. There’s a kind of momentum that builds when you perform that consistently with the same people for years. I was excited about the place we had reached live last year, Musicians know that you hit certain plateaus with performing as years go on. and can be the points where things evolve. I think we were in an interesting place when we left off and was looking forward to continuing that momentum and taking this tour Europe last year, Which is a place we have not spent a lot of time the last decade performing in."

"Here’s a clip of the ending have a song Epro, Where the song disintegrates and the arrangement ends," Beck continued. "A bit of chaos and freedom. A product of growing up at sonic youth shows and The frayed edges of our time. Looking forward to being able to make that noise again sometime soon."
