Splore has added its biggest name yet to the bill for its summer-friendly February festival.

British electronic act Leftfield are today confirmed as headliners for Splore, the three-day festival also featuring The Cuban Brothers, The Correspondents, Waxahatchee, The Dub Pistols and Jordan Rakei.

Formed in the early 90s by Neil Barnes and Paul Daley, Leftfield released two era-defining albums in 1995's Leftism and 1999's Rhythm & Stealth, but were silent for much of the 2000s.

Barnes recently resurrected Leftfield without Daley and is promising to bring a full AV and lighting production set-up to Splore, as well as songs from the new album Alternative Light Source, released to acclaim earlier this year.

Also added to Splore's line-up today are Dutch group My Baby, plus local acts Kinetic, Aroha + Tali, High Hoops, James Chesterman, DJ Takas, Ciazzmo, Joe Revell, Chiccoreli /MC Tali and Elementary.

The family-friendly festival also offers a main stage on the beach, yoga classes, a rumpus room for kids, cafes and themed camping areas.

It's held at Tapapakanga Park, south of Auckland, from February 19-21.
