There's little question at this point who Chris Cornell's favorite Beatle was.

Earlier this December, the estate of the late-Soundgarden frontman released the covers solo album Chris had completed in 2016 before his death.

Included on the album is a sparsely-arranged cover of John Lennon's "Watching the Wheels." On Wednesday, Chris's estate premiered the lyric video for his own ebullient version of the song.

Chris often covered Lennon's "Imagine" during live shows and included a version of the iconic song on his 2011 Songbook live album. His career-spanning 2018 posthumous compilation album, Chris Cornell, also included a cover of The Beatles' Lennon-penned classic "A Day in the Life."

In 2011, Chris admitted to Howard Stern, "I actually looked to [Lennon] as a father figure when I was a kid."

"By then, they had broken up and The Beatles had nothing to do with pop culture, really. You would see — like, the Let It Be pictures were in everyone's house," he recalled. "So they were there almost like other family members. 'This is my mom, my dad...[The Beatles].' ...Everyone had that Let It Be album in their living room with The Beatles looking at you."

Like most hard-rockers and prog heads, Chris leaned towards The Beatles' later, more experimental work, like Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band, the White Album and "...Abbey Road with headphones. I don't know what it was about it but it didn't do it for me listening to it on speakers. ...I remember cranking it super loud and I couldn't believe the production of Abbey Road."

According to his estate, the No One Sings Like You Anymore album is last full album Chris completed before his death.

The record also includes Chris's famous cover of Prince/Sinéad O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U," along with tracks by ELO, Harry Nilsson, Janis Joplin and others.
