Mark Hoppus reflects on recording 'The Mark, Tom And Travis Show' live album

Blink-182's The Mark, Tom and Travis Show turns 20 on November 7, and Mark Hoppus reflected on how "nerve-wracking" it was to record the beloved live album during a recent video interview with RockSound.

"We recorded [The Mark, Tom and Travis Show] full-on old school with a recording truck that came out to the show in Los Angeles and the show in San Francisco. It was nerve-wracking," he admitted. "Playing shows in LA is already nerve-wracking enough because you have friends and family and agents and lawyers and label people and radio stations. It’s like your wedding at the backstage of a Los Angeles show."

"I love the way that it turned out though," Mark added. "We recorded the entire tour onto Digital Audio Tape and at the end of the tour somebody went back and listened to all of the banter that Tom and I did and put together that 15 minutes at the end of the album. The worst, most obscene, foul-language. On that tour me and Tom were really trying to see who could outdo the other and say the most ridiculous thing on stage. I’m glad it’s preserved for posterity now."

Enema of the State celebrated its 20th birthday last year. While fans were disappointed that the album's recent 20th anniversary didn't spark a reunion with Tom DeLonge, the band's former guitarist said a few months ago that a reunion is all but inevitable.

“Everyone wants to know, 'Are you guys gonna play again?' Yeah, of course we are. We just gotta figure out the timing, how it works for everybody,” he divulged at the time. Tom is currently working on a new Angels & Airwaves record, which he declares is the best album he's ever made. And blink is prepping a new EP, which includes their recently released single "Quarantine."
