Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford is encouraging rock and metal fans around the world to get vaccinated against coronavirus, so bands like his own can get back to safely rocking live audiences.

The Metal God started a recent Instagram video by thanking fans who have begun or completed the process of getting "the life-saving vaccine," which provides immunity against COVID-19 and helps prevent the continued spread of the virus and its more contagious variants.

"One thing that we're proud about in metal is that we not only stand together united for our music, but also each other," Halford said. "Common sense states that by having the jab, we're opening up one of the most important areas that we have so desperately missed, which is being side by side, horns way up at clubs, theaters, arenas and festivals, where who we are and what we live for is tangible and real with the bands we love. So let's get those amazing vibes and feelings back faster."

He concluded by saying that bands like Judas Priest are "made complete" by having fans to perform for.

Halford got his second dose of the vaccine in March.
