Stone Temple Pilots have announced their eight studio album and first-ever acoustic album, 'Perdida'.

The band's second full-length with frontman Jeff Gutt in the fold, 'Perdida' is touted as being "a new sonic adventure" for the veteran rock act, featuring 10 introspective acoustic tracks with a fair share of surprises in each arrangement.

Stone Temple Pilots will celebrate the February 7 album release with the 15-date 'An Evening With Stone Temple Pilots' tour in which they will recreate tracks from Perdida and reimagine selections from their classic catalog.

The album was recorded in early 2019 at STP drummer Eric Kretz's Bomb Shelter Studio. Guitarist Dean DeLeo notes that the album title, a Spanish word for "loss," fit the wistful mood of the new songs.

"You have to live it to write it, and this record is a reflection of where we've been recently," DeLeo explained via a release.

Gutt explained that the album's lyrics came from just as "vulnerable" a place as the music, which was primarily composed by Dean and bassist Robert DeLeo.
