New York City was planning to celebrate its reopening with a slew of NYC Homecoming events throughout the week (beginning August 14 and ending August 22); however, its grand finale, the "We Love NYC" concert in Central Park, got spoiled due to hurricane warnings and inclement weather.

Though some of the artists on the bill, including Journey, LL Cool J, Santana and Barry Manilow, all of the headliners' sets got canceled. The Killers didn't let that stop them from playing music, though, and treated a crowd backstage to an impromptu acoustic set including three of their biggest hits: "Can You Read My Mind," "Human," and "Mr. Brightside."

Someone caught the whole thing on camera, which you can watch above. The music starts around the 8:35 mark.

Although The Killers' Imploding the Mirage tour doesn't technically start until 2022, they've booked a slew of shows to end this year, including sets at the Firefly and Sandjam music festivals. They'll have plenty of new material to choose from for their setlists. Their tour was originally planned for 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic, which means they've yet to play songs from 'Imploding the Mirage' or its follow-up 'Pressure Machine' live.
