This mashup of Metallica & Mariah Carey is a real kick to the sleigh bells

Now that it's been almost a full two days since Halloween, Mariah Carey's immortal Holiday classic "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is back spur on yet another fourth quarter retail season.

"All I Want for Christmas Is You" is as inescapable in mid- to late-fall as pine and pumpkin spice, but you've never heard it like this before.

YouTube musician William Maranci recently edited Carey's hit together with Metallica's 1984 metal masterpiece "For Whom the Bell Tolls."

The mashup is full of surprises, but the main idea is that it juxtaposes James Hetfield's ferocious lead vocals over the jaunty instrumental track from "All I Want For Christmas Is You," and boy, will it make you feel strange!

In addition to Hetfield's vocals, Maranci overlays bits of Kirk Hammett's "Bells" lead guitar and Cliff Burton's driving wah-wah bass riffs with Carey's operatic background vocals.

Carey herself recently poked fun at the omnipresence of her 1994 holiday classic via Twitter, urging people to hold back on the Christmas avalanche until Thanksgiving at least.

Metallica is preparing for its second 'Helping Hands' concert to benefit its All Within My Hands Foundation on November 14. The benefit was originally scheduled to take place in March, but Metallica made the event virtual due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The first AWMH benefit concert took place in 2018 and raised over $1.3 million for the band's charitable efforts.
