The latest in Metallica's weekly concert streaming series is an extra special one for heavy metal fans: Metallica's set from the 'Big Four' concert at September 14, 2011, at Yankee Stadium.

The tour also included fellow thrash icons Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax performing full sets before Metallica took over in the headlining spot.

While we don't get to enjoy those other band's respective sets, the special energy of that historic day is apparent even on video all these years later. Also, the encore of the show features an all-star jam between members from all four bands on "Overkill" by Motörhead.

Drummer Lars Ulrich noted in his weekly show intro that this is the 22nd week of the #MetallicaMonday concert series. The 'Big Four' show featured several firsts.

"The first time Metallica played Yankee Stadium, though hopefully not the last," Ulrich said. "This was the second 'Big Four' show in the U.S. and the last time the 'Big Four' played together...so far."

He also noted that the band has been busy for the past few weeks. Metallica is about to release of its S&M2 live album on August 28. The band also got back together earlier this month (in the same place at the same time) to film a brand new concert for its upcoming drive-in event on August 29.

"I'm not going to give hardly anything away other than say it was super fun," he said of the filming for the drive-in concert. "It's been a great couple weeks. Like they say in the Blues Brothers movies, 'We're gettin' the band back together.' We got the band back together. The fellas are good. We had a good couple weeks. We played, rocked, got our groove back on. We recorded the drive-in shenanigans."
