With less than a month to go before the release of their new album Perdida, Stone Temple Pilots have shared the official music video for their latest song off the project, "Fare Thee Well."

In the black and white visual, directed by P.R. Brown (My Chemical Romance, John Mayer, Prince), the band is performing the song as the group's lead singer, Jeff Gutt, sings the track's meaningful lyrics, "Got my heart out in my hand and don't you know it?/ Something deep inside's come over me/ I'm gonna sacrifice my soul just to show it/ Can you try to tell me what it means?"

Perdida is Stone Temple Pilots' eighth full-length studio album following 2018's self-titled release, as well as the band's second album with vocalist Jeff Gutt. The LP showcases 10 new songs, including "Fare Thee Well," and a song called "I Didn't Know The Time" which touches on the loss of STP's previous two singers, Scott Weiland and Chester Bennington. Gutt recently told Rolling Stone of the song, "I didn't know Scott. But I’d known Chester since 2000, so there was some reminiscing about him on that song. That's really the only time on the album. The rest was all ex-girlfriends and all that."

Being an acoustic album, Perdida goes in a different direction for the band and the songs came together while the group was on tour over the last year with Bush and the Cult. STP bassist Robert DeLeo told Rolling Stone of the record, "This is an album we've been wanting to make for quite some time. Most of our songs start acoustically and we felt these would come across in the most genuine way if we kept them that way."
