Who needs social media when you can tease new music on The Simpsons. On Sunday (May 10), Weezer guest-starred on the latest episode of the show, titled "The Hateful Eight-Year-Olds," as a cover band called Sailor's Delight that play on a booze cruise Homer and Marge are on. Aside from playing the hits, they preview a new song called "Blue Dream" that will be featured on their upcoming album Van Weezer.

They also give The Simpsons theme song a rock makeover, which you can watch above.

Last week, Weezer shared a new song called "Hero" that was dedicated to frontline workers battling the coronavirus. Last year, they shared the album's lead single "End of the Game." Van Weezer was supposed to come out this week (May 15); however, like so many other albums, has been delayed. A new release date is forthcoming.

"While the rest of us retreated to our homes, you ran towards the threat in a battle you didn’t even know you signed up for. Your bravery and selflessness are awe-inspiring. You are the reason we shall rock another day," singer Rivers Cuomo wrote in a letter in the "Hero" video. "Life is good, and for all of this, we thank you."
