Cat Drinks Three Bottles Of Wine And Ends Up With A Massive Hangover

A cat is never drinking again after he got stuck in a wine cellar for seven weeks and got hammered.

Aljosha drank three bottles of his neighbour’s wine, around £28 worth, after accidentally getting trapped during one of his daily walks.

His owner Claudia von Büren got increasingly worried and even printed 150 flyers and posted them all around her town of Würselen in Germany.

She was very surprised when he finally turned up seven weeks later, looking a little worse for wear.

‘He was more dead than alive when I picked him up,’ she told Bild. ‘We went to the vets straight away, where they diagnosed him with alcohol poisoning.’

Aljosha took three days on a drip to recover, but now he’s sobered up he’s doing a lot better.

Aljosha was very lucky – alcohol can be fatal for cats. He also has a drinking problem now - he will no longer drink water for fear it is white wine.
