A group of firefighters has been rewarded with a delicious gift after saving a group of 18 piglets from a farmyard blaze in Wiltshire.

Sometime after the dramatic rescue farmer, Rachel Rivers treated the firefighters to sausages made from the pigs themselves.

The animals who were being raised for meat were given a six-month stay of execution for surviving the ordeal.

Farmer Rachel has said: "I gave those animals the best quality of life I could ever give, until the time they go to slaughter and they go into the food chain"

Pewsey Firestation has since removed the post.
