The All Blacks Sevens have beaten South Africa 12-7 in a sensational extra-time thriller semi-final at the Hong Kong Sevens.

Regan Ware pounced on a cross kick from Gillies Kaka in the second period of extra time to gift New Zealand the win.

The All Blacks Sevens were up against it the entire match, down on substitutes because of injury and suffering a yellow card in the first period of extra time.

New Zealand will face the winner of Fiji and Australia in the final later on tonight.

Earlier, Australia beat New Zealand 24-19 in the final of this weekend's women's sevens tournament in Atlanta.
