The All Whites have their goalkeeper to thank for securing them a lucrative place at the Confederations Cup.

Stefan Marinovic has saved two penalties in the shoot-out which has decided the Oceania Nations Cup.

Marco Rojas has then scored the decisive penalty to clinch a 4-2 victory over tournament hosts Papua New Guinea after the final had finished scoreless after 90 minutes and extra time.

All Whites coach Anthony Hudson says in the absence of Glen Moss, Marinovic stepped up.

Hudson says Marinovic deserves all the credit he gets and it's outstanding he only conceded one goal all tournament.

The All Whites will join hosts Russia, Germany, Australia, Chile, Mexico, Australia and the yet to be crowned European and African champions at next year's Confederations Cup in Russia.
