Former Breakers coach Andrej Lemanis is making a return to the Australian Basketball League.

Lemanis has been officially announced as the new head coach of the Brisbane Bullets, when they rejoin the competition next season.

He is currently head coach of the Australian national team and will join his new side after the Olympics.

Meanwhile, Duane Bailey's been cut by the Breakers to make room for the returning Corey Webster on the team's roster.

Coach Dean Vickerman admits it was a tough decision, given Bailey has been part of the Breakers family for a very long time.

"We try to take all the emotion and all those kinds of things out of it and really make a decision on what we thought was absolutely best for the team moving forward. Duane's form hasn't been great either."

However, he's been offered the chance to stay on as a practice player, with a possible return to the side if someone is injured.

Coach Dean Vickerman says the offer's on the table, but at this stage Bailey has other plans.

"Lower level Europe is something that he's trying to find right now for himself. The more the days go on and things don't happen, the door's still open for him to come in and be a practice player."

Dean Vickerman says they've asked Bailey to stay on and train with the team, and if there's an injury he's a chance to come back in.
