Black Caps Ease To Comprehensive Win Over Sri Lanka

The Black Caps have eased to a comprehensive win over Sri Lanka in the first one-dayer in Christchurch.

New Zealand has won by seven wickets, cruising to the victory target of 189 in just 21 overs.

A powerful batting display from Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptill set up the New Zealand chase, with McCullum bludgeoning 55 from 25 balls and Guptill 79 from 56.

Earlier, Matt Henry put the Sri Lankan batting line-up under immense pressure with four early wickets, before finishing with four for 49 in a man of the match effort.

Doug Bracewell took three for 37.

Just three Sri Lankan batsmen made double figures, with Milinda Siriwardana making 66 and Nuwan Kulasekara 58, in Sri Lanka's 188 all out.

The next game is in Christchurch on Monday.
