The Blues have held on for a come from behind 23-18 Super Rugby win over the Sharks in Auckland.

In a loose but intense match at Eden Park, the visiting South Africans had an 11-3 lead late in the first half, thanks to a try and two penalties.

However, the home side played themselves back into the game before the break, with midfielder George Moala crossing over for a converted try to trail by one at halftime.

The Sharks again started strongly in the second 40 and soon found themselves eight points ahead after a converted try to Paul Jordaan.

But, after several fresh legs were called on to the field, the Blues started to take a bit more control, and took the lead through a Rieko Ioane try, which was converted by Ihaia West who also added a late penalty goal.

It's the Blues' third win of the Super Rugby season.
