The Chiefs have pulled off a stunning 30-26 victory to deny the Jaguares victory in their first home Super Rugby match in Buenos Aires.

Trailing 23-14 with 10 minutes left, the Jaguares scored a converted try through Martin Landajo to cut the deficit to two before Matias Moroni dotted down to give his side the lead.

However, the Chiefs wrested the game back with a try two minutes from time through Brad Weber that was duly converted by Damian McKenzie.

Chiefs co-captain Sam Cane said the Jaguares provided a stern challenge.

"They're a team that can challenge you up front, but have the skill set and the pace in the back line to test you as well."

Cane said that was obviously in the last five minutes when the Jaguares took the lead.

"I'm pretty pleased with the way we didn't stop playing."

Earlier, Sam McNicol, McKenzie and James Lowe dotted down for tries for the visitors.
