Chiefs Hold Blues Off For A Win

The Chiefs have held off a gallant Blues effort 29-23 in their Super Rugby match in Hamilton.

A late Brodie Retallick sealed the win for the home side, after they were forced to come from 10 points down in the second spell.

The Chiefs led 10-6 at halftime on the back of tries to Mitchell Graham and Shaun Stevenson before two quick tries after the break to Melani Nanai and Rieko Ioane gave the Blues a 20-10 lead.

The match swung back in the Chiefs favour with tries to Aaron Cruden and Seta Tamanivalu to put them in the lead once more, before Retallick locked away the win two minutes from time.

Ihaia West slotted a penalty goal for the Blues after the hooter to earn a bonus point for finishing within seven.
