Crusaders Teach Blues A Lesson

The Crusaders have their forwards to thank for a dogged 28-13 Super Rugby victory over the Blues in Christchurch.

Late tries to Kieran Read and Richie Mo'unga put the result beyond doubt for the hosts, who dominated possession and territory, but struggled to convert it into points for much of the match.

Blues captain Jerome Kaino says his side was second best.

"Given their game last I knew they were going to come out firing and fired up and they were."

"I'm not going to sugar-coat it. We got taught a lesson."

Crusaders skipper Read says they knew their forwards had to lay the platform.

He says the Blues are a really dangerous team with unstructured ball so they wanted to dictate terms.

Meanwhile, the Brumbies have run away with a 32-15 win over the Waratahs in Canberra.
