They've become critical to the team in the past four years, but a handful of players are about to experience an All Blacks first.

Aaron Smith, Brodie Retallick, Ben Smith and Julian Savea may be established regulars, but none were involved in the last World Cup final.

Smith says this is what he dreamed about as a kid.

"You think about what [kind] a team you want the All Blacks to be like and you think about it as a little kid and it's that and more.  Everyone is the best what they do all the way through," said Smith.  

"It's a dream come true every week."
