New Zealand Cricket will move on satisfied that Nigel Llong followed the correct DRS processes in his incorrect decision in the day night test.

The ICC has addressed NZC's concerns of Llong's third umpire decision awarding Nathan Lyon not out, despite evidence of a clear nick.

The governing body concedes while Llong's judgement was wrong, he followed all the correct protocols.

NZC head of cricket Lindsay Crocker says they're moving on.

"He just made an error of judgment, they've admitted that, fair play to them for holding their hand up," he said.

"I guess we can accept that, people make mistakes but we also wanted to make sure that if there were a process error then it was something that was tightened up and not repeated."

"The good news is that the system is robust enough."

The ICC says it will still allow Nigel Llong to umpire in the upcoming Black Caps series against Sri Lanka if he's appointed.
