A team heading to the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup in India has been spoken to by the ICC over suspicions of planned corruption.

The governing body's anti-corruption unit has revealed that several players from a team heading to the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup are being investigated over allegedly planning to match fix future games.

Anti-corruption unit head Sir Ronnie Flanagan says he won't divulge which country or players are being investigated.

"It is very difficult for me to talk about specific details of an ongoing case.

"We had reason to believe that members of a particular team had intentions to manipulate events in forthcoming matches."

He says they had reason to believe that members of a particular team had intentions to manipulate the outcome of matches.

Flanagan says the anti-corruption unit has acted by bringing the national squad together and reminding them of their responsibilities, while indicating it will punish those involved.

"It is my responsibility that players do have confidence that when something is reported, something will be done about it."
