A scintillating final thirty minutes has left Argentina's dream of a maiden victory over the All Blacks in tatters.

The Pumas trailed by just two points with 50 minutes gone, before New Zealand raced in five unanswered tries for a 57-22 win in Hamilton.

Coach Steve Hansen says they needed to regroup at half time, did so, and "went back out and were a lot more effective in our roles and executing the jobs we needed to do."

"That put a lot of pressure on the Argentinians."

"As a team, we'll have learned something else about ourselves as a leadership group...It was an ideal game for us."

Flanker Sam Cane is facing four to six weeks on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury early in the second half.
