After a slow start the Hurricanes have thumped the Western Force 41-6 in their Super Rugby match in Palmerston North.

The hosts couldn't convert first half opportunities and went to the break with a 10-3 lead courtesy of a Dane Coles try.

However the floodgates opened in the second half as the Hurricanes ran in five tries.

James Marshall, TJ Perenara, Blade Thompson, Ngani Laumape and Ardie Savea all dotting down.

The six tries to none victory gives the Hurricanes a bonus point win that lifts them off the bottom of the New Zealand conference.
