The Blues have lost their captain for the next three to four weeks.
Jerome Kaino could sit out up to the next month after suffering a shoulder injury in the draw against the Reds.
He came off in the 62nd minute with the injury.
The Blues have the bye next week and again in round nine, which could help alleviate losing him.
