A chance for the All Blacks Sevens team to jump to the top of the World Series standings.

Having clawed back ground in Vancouver, third placed New Zealand can jump above South Africa and overtake leaders Fiji with a win in Hong Kong this weekend.

With just three tournaments remaining before the focus switches to the Olympic Games, Sam Dickson said a win would be timely.

"If we get our combinations right and keep on growing as a team -- obviously the squad's going to change quite a bit leading into Paris and London -- so just keep on building and hopefully get a couple of W's."

Dickson said it's important they keep evolving their style of play.

"We like playing at our own pace. It definitely changes from game to game, depending on who we're playing against. Leading into Hong Kong we'll do our research on each team and see what works best for us".

Rather than the usual three games to kick things off on day one, teams will only have to play one game which won't kick off until early evening.

The All Blacks Sevens play France in their sole game of the day.

Dickson said the only thing that will really change is being able to have a sleep in.

He said with many of the players having played at Hong Kong before, they're used to the longer tournament.

Kick off is at 11:44pm.

Meanwhile the New Zealand women's sevens side begin their campaign in Atlanta at 5:58am tomorrow morning.
