NZ Warriors Come Back Too Late

If the first match is anything to go by, another Warriors rollercoaster ride season could lay ahead.

They've been beaten 34-26 by the Wests Tigers in their opening game of the NRL season after trailing 28-4 at half time.

They got back to within two points with 12 minutes remaining, only for James Tedesco to ice the game with a try for the Tigers in the final minute.

Coach Andrew McFadden said while it's unacceptable to start the way they did, at least there are obvious positives too.

He said they fought back, got themselves back into range and might have sneaked home.
