The NRL is again dealing with an ugly off-season incident, with one of its top players in serious trouble from a video at a party.

New South Wales and Sydney Roosters playmaker Mitchell Pearce's career could be in tatters after being seen in a video performing a lewd act on a dog at an Australia Day party.

It was after he was rejected by a woman who he then made racist and derogatory remarks towards.

The Roosters are investigating the incident and the NRL's integrity unit have been made aware of it.

Pearce was fined more than 20 thousand dollars in 2014 after an incident with a woman in a Sydney nightclub.
