Phoenix Pipped 2-1 By Wanderers

The Wellington Phoenix have been pipped 2-1 by Western Sydney Wanderers in their A-League match across the Tasman.

Wanderers midfielder Mark Bridge broke the deadlock in the 85th minute, slamming home the winner after being unmarked from a corner.

The Phoenix went down early in a frantic first half, but found an unlikely hero in Manny Muscat moments later.

Muscat scored his fourth A-League goal in seven years as his low shot found the back of the net.

The Phoenix face Sydney FC on Thursday.
