The IAAF has provisionally suspended Russia from international athletics competitions.

The world governing body has made the decision after a meeting in London lasted more than three hours over a WADA report that alleged 'state-sponsored' doping in the country.

The decision was made with 22 votes to one by the IAAF, with three members abstaining.

IAAF president Lord Sebastian Coe said the message could not be stronger, and this has been a shameful wake up call.

Coe said it's now entirely up to Russia to make changes, and they have a lot of work to do if they want to compete at next year's Rio Olympics.
