Santner Relishing New Chances

Black Caps all-rounder Mitchell Santner is relishing the chance for a new opportunity in the national side.

The spinner opened the bowling in the second Twenty20 against Pakistan in Hamilton.

While opening with spin is not new in international cricket, Santner says it's good to try his hand at it for the Black Caps.

"I've done it a few times for the Knights so it's nothing too different," he said.

Santner played for Northern Districts midweek against Canterbury, just the second innings for Santner since the final ODI against Sri Lanka over a fortnight ago.

"There was an option given. I haven't had much of a hit, so it will be good to just get out in the middle and hit some balls."

The third and final Twenty20 is tonight in Wellington.
