Sloane Stephens has won the women's ASB Classic in Auckland.

Stephens has won her second WTA Tour title, beating Germany's Julia Goerges [guhr-giss] 7-5, 6-2 in one hour and 16 minutes.

She earlier had to finish her semi-final against Caroline Wozniacki this morning, which she also won in straight sets.

Stephens said that was a test.

She said she has never had to do that before and she's really pleased with how she was able to pull herself together.

Meanwhile, the main drawcard for the men's ASB Classic believes he's still good enough to win a grand slam.

Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has arrived in Auckland for next week's tournament.

Tsonga, the current world number 10, says winning one of the majors is still his desire.

Tsonga's the second seed for the men's ASB Classic and has a bye in the first round.
