The Black Caps have produced an astonishing 10 wicket win over Sri Lanka in the second one-dayer in Christchurch.

Martin Guptill has scored the quickest one day half century by a New Zealander, blazing 50 runs from just 17 balls.

He narrowly missed becoming the fastest internationally, with AB de Villiers still holding the record of 50 off 16 balls.

Guptill finished with an incredible 93 off just 30 balls as New Zealand chased down the paltry 118 required to win in just nine overs.

Earlier, Matt Henry took four for 33 and Mitchell McClenaghan three for 32 in dismantling the Sri Lankan batting line up.

The visitors were all out for 117, with Nuwan Kulasekera top scoring with just 19.

The next match is in Nelson on Thursday.
