The star off-season signing has been ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing knee ligaments in the win over the Bulldogs.

Coach Andrew McFadden said it's shattering news for Tuivasa-Sheck and the club.

"It's massive there's no doubt about it. He's a quality player you know and we obviously brought him to the club because we thought he could offer us something so now we are going to have to wait another season, I suppose, to see that."

McFadden said Tuivasa-Sheck hasn't had to deal with too many injuries so far in his career.

"It's difficult to take for him at the moment because he's a very motivated kid. It's shattering for him. One thing I know about him is he's a terrific character and he'll bounce back."

He said it's important they keep Tuivasa-Sheck involved the team while he's going through his rehab and use the time to educate him on and off the field.

McFadden said they'll put Tuimoala Lolohea back to fullback and Thomas Leuluai into the halves, having acquitted themselves well when Tuivasa-Sheck went off with the injury.
